This week, Pastor David continued the sermon series on The Life Of David with a look at God's holiness.
GOING DEEPER:
- While it is difficult to understand, God clearly communicated how the Ark of the Covenant was to be carried. Uzzah was not so innocent, and neither are we. In what areas of your life do you use your own “work around” instead of God’s instructions? When are you tempted to take the faster, easier, or more convenient way?
- Pastor David said that God's holiness and our sin cannot coexist. We are soaked in sin, and His holiness is a raging fire. The only thing that can cover our sin is the blood of Jesus. What makes you aware of your need to be fully covered by Jesus’ blood?
- When the Ark of the Covenant was finally moved to the capital, the processional had a very different outcome than the first time it was moved. What did David do during the second celebration? How did his attitude differ in the second celebration?
- David's spontaneous worship of God shows us that he was more concerned about God's glory than what others would say or think of Him. What is the object of your worship? Is it worthy of your time, energy, thoughts, and money? Why or why not?
